Keller’s bedroom

An underwater world for a friend’s first born.

In the summer of 2001 my best childhood friend asked me to help her paint a mural in her son’s bedroom. The concept was hers and she chose the images she wanted replicated on the walls. We worked together.

The first step was texture painting an underwater look for the background using typical latex paint for the home. Next, considering where the bedroom furniture was placed, we projected various sea life animals on the walls and traced the outlines for our paintings.

Then we painted the animal scenes using acrylics. Some we did together, while others we worked on separately.

Unfortunately as this project was completed during the early days of digital photography, I didn’t shoot in-progress photos as I do now and I am missing images for one of the animals I painted.
